More good news, Stand & Deliver has been selected for the 8th Hull International Short Film Festival, not only that, but it is up for the Anthony Minghella Award for Best UK Short.  It will screen on 24th April at Reel Hull Screen, further information will be available on our screenings page.

December 2009

Grace has wrapped, and we're off on holiday.  Post-production will continue and an industry screening to follow in March 2010.

We had to take a little break from post-production on Cape to make way for Grace, but you'll be able to see both of them next Spring.

October 2009

As October draws to a close, the Grace shoot is halfway there.  We had the very bad luck of a swine flu outbreak, and had to push the remaining shoot days to December.

Cape (formerly Cape Wrath) has wrapped and is now in post-production.  It has to be said, this has been my favourite film so far for so many reasons.  We kept it small, just six of us and a people carrier.  Up to Cape Wrath and back again in just five days with a cast of one, the wonderful Emma Deakin.  This film was made with the support of a fantastic, supportive crew who really believed in me, & trusted me (we had just a one page outline to work from.  I look forward to sharing it with y'all.

In other news, we're now casting for Grace, and in the grips of pre-production.  Lots to do, so best crack on.

October 2008

Well, hello there!  So, what's been happening round these parts then?  Busy times I tell you.  September and a lil bit of October were spent at Broadland Sands Holiday Park where Emily was working on feature film The Scouting Book for Boys.  A gorgeous flick produced by Celador Films, written by Jack Thorne and directed by Tom Harper, stars Thomas Turgoose, Holly Grainger, Rafe Spall and Steven Mackintosh among many other familiar British talents.

August 2008

It may seem like we've had a summer break but no, it's just been too busy round these parts to post any news.  Emily has spent the last 6 weeks kicking it loose in The GY on feature film Malice in Wonderland.  It seems that her early film career may yet be spent shooting in this Norfolk coastal resort as there are plans to return to those shores with more projects.  A number of films in the pipeline but nothing to wow you with yet, we are however, very pleased to announce that One Little Step has been selected to play at NY's Drive-In Film Festival this August.  Schedule to be announced.

May 2008

mad&bad film's Emily Blickem recently completed her role as Production Manager on short dark comedy 'Curtains'.  Written & directed by Julian Barratt & Dan Jemmett, produced by Bafta award winning Warp Films in association with Made Up North Productions, and starring the fantastic Mr Bob Goody, 'Curtains' is set in Great Yarmouth and tells the story of Barry Shepherd, a worn out Punch & Judy man.

After 50 years working the wooden dolls, it's time for a splashy puppet finish, an adieu.  As things begin to fall apart around him, Barry's life becomes increasingly pervaded by the reality of his violent and tawdry profession.  Drinking and cursing his way unrepentantly onwards , he continues with the show.  Even as it threatens to destroy him and take his soul...

'Curtains' was funded by Screen East Xcellerate and FilmFour and will be screened on FilmFour later this year.
